Terms
Last updated 21 October 2026.
These terms cover the use of off-studio, at off-studio.io. They are written to be read. If something here is unclear, write and ask, and the answer will be treated as part of them.
Who you are contracting with
off-studio is run from Switzerland. For anything about these terms, to ask who you are contracting with, or for a postal address to write to, contact hello@off-studio.io. Every such request is answered.
What the service is
off-studio keeps the working records of a music career: the people you know, the gigs you played, what you released, what it earned, and the tasks around it. It is a record-keeping tool. It is not accounting, tax or legal advice, and nothing it shows you is a substitute for the person who does your books.
Your account
- An account belongs to one person. You are responsible for what is done through it, so keep the password to yourself. Two-step sign-in is available in Settings.
- You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
- Records you put in are yours. Do not put in material you have no right to hold, and remember that a contact you write down is a real person with rights of their own. The privacy policy says how that is handled.
The free plan
From 28 September 2026 a new workspace starts on the free plan, and no card is asked for. It stays free, for one person, with the limits printed on the front page, until its owner chooses the paid plan. A workspace that began before that date with a free week keeps the week it was given and moves to the free plan when the week ends with no plan chosen. When a subscription ends, the workspace moves to the free plan too. Nothing is charged and nothing is deleted.
Early access is offered for a limited time, through a link that can be closed at any moment. A workspace made through that link while it is open, or taken through it by its owner, holds 25 of each kind the free plan counts instead of 10, and keeps them. For the first 30 days from that day its agent runs 10 times a day, and after them 3 times a day, as on the free plan. Closing the link takes nothing back.
That one person is the owner, who can still read, change, delete and export everything, including whatever is over those limits; only a new entry beyond a limit is refused. Anybody else on the workspace can read and export what their role allows, and cannot add or change anything until the owner chooses the paid plan. Nobody is removed, and choosing the paid plan gives everybody back what they had. A workspace a manager set up, whose artist has not yet joined as its owner, holds nobody to reading, and its limits apply to everybody on it.
The people who run off-studio can still change a workspace on the free plan, and do so only to fix a fault or to answer a request for help.
A roster of several artists has no free plan under it. When a roster's trial ends, or its subscription ends, the workspaces stay readable and exportable, and adding to them starts again when a plan does.
Plans and payment
- Prices are shown in euro on the front page. The amount you will be charged, including any tax that applies to you, is shown before you confirm at checkout.
- Payment is handled by Stripe. Card details go to Stripe and never reach off-studio.
- A plan is monthly or yearly. A yearly plan is charged once and costs ten months of the monthly price.
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until it is ended. It keeps the price it has until you change plan, for example from monthly to yearly. A change of plan, and a first extra person or artist added to a subscription, are charged at the price then published.
- If the price of an existing subscription is to change, you will be told by email before it takes effect, with enough notice to end the subscription first.
- If a payment fails, nothing changes in the workspace while the subscription lasts. When a subscription ends, the workspace moves to the free plan described above, and the workspaces of a roster stay readable and exportable until a plan starts again.
Ending it
You can end a subscription at any time, yourself, from Settings, Manage billing, which opens Stripe's own screen. It runs to the end of the period you have already paid for and is not renewed after that. There is no notice period and nothing to write to anybody about.
If you are a consumer in the EU or the EEA, you have fourteen days from the day you subscribe to change your mind. Write to hello@off-studio.io within that time and you get your money back, less the part of the period you have already used. Asking to start straight away, which is what pressing subscribe does, does not take that right away from you.
Your account can be deleted from Settings. If you are the only owner of a workspace, deleting your account deletes that workspace and its records for everybody on it, so export first if you want to keep them. If the workspace has another owner, or you are on a workspace you do not own, deleting your account removes you from it, and the workspace stays as it is. If you are the only owner of an agency, the agency is deleted too, with every workspace in its roster that has no owner of its own; the others stay with their artists. Settings says which of these will happen before you confirm.
Events, and the people who register for them
Event artwork is published publicly when you save it to the event page; do not use private files or material you do not have permission to publish. If you review applications, you are responsible for your admission criteria and decisions. Optional demographic questions must have an explained purpose; leaving them unanswered must not trigger an automatic refusal. An approval is not proof of ticket payment or attendance. Ticket sales and discounts remain with your chosen external provider.
Community lets you publish an event and collect registrations from people who have no account here, and turn on a Stay in touch page (the Mailing list in Community) where people sign up with no event. Those people are yours to answer for: you are the controller and off-studio is the processor, holding their details on the instructions you give through the product and on these terms. Ask only for what the event needs, and do not collect what you have no right to collect. Answer a person who asks what you hold about them or asks to be removed, and write to them later only about what they are subscribed to: future events, new releases, or both. Links you add to a WhatsApp group, an Instagram, a Telegram or another page are links; off-studio joins nobody to them and sends nothing through them.
For its part, off-studio keeps a registration or a sign-up in your workspace, sends that person a confirmation where enabled, or a request receipt and admission outcomes where the event requires review. Each confirmation is sent once, except a new link when that person asks for one, or the same again when a later sign-up or registration adds to what they hear about. off-studio deletes registration details and answers once both the event and the registration are more than 12 months old, keeping only the name, the email address and the record of what they agreed to (the words of the box, which form, and when) of a person who asked to hear about future events or new releases, and the smaller history below where that person chose it. A subscription to future events alone does not extend that period. off-studio acts on a removal request that reaches it first, telling you it did. The processors that touch it are the ones named in the privacy policy, and you will be told before that list changes. An event being used to collect people for something other than the event it names can be taken down, and the account with it if it happens again.
You may keep a smaller history of confirmed events for a person who subscribes to future events (Event updates in the app) and separately agrees to that history. The history holds only the person, the event, its date and country, and the fact that the person was confirmed for it. Use the history only to recognise returning people and choose invitations to later events. Never describe a confirmed registration as proof of attendance or a ticket purchase.
Each history entry expires 4 years after its event. off-studio deletes the longer history sooner when the person withdraws that choice or stops future events, or when you remove an entry you no longer need. Cancelling or removing a registration removes its history too. Deleting the person, event or workspace removes the related history. You must not make a registration or a subscription to future events depend on agreeing to the longer history.
You remain responsible for explaining the history, obtaining and recording the separate choice, and answering requests about the person's details. off-studio holds the history only on your instructions under these terms. Downloads and copies you keep elsewhere remain your responsibility. Do not use a downloaded list to continue the longer history or marketing after the person has withdrawn the relevant choice.
You can switch that confirmation off for an event. Where you do, a person who registers gets no confirmation, unless they tick the box asking to hear about future events: then they get one, with the link to change what they hear about. Any other person who wants the link that manages their registration can ask the event's page for it. Answering a person who writes to you instead is still yours.
A list you save in the Audience is only a set of filters, and it gives nobody anything. Early-access links and discount codes stay with your ticket provider. You write to the people in a list's file from your own email address or newsletter service, and only about what they agreed to hear about.
Replies to your Community emails go to an email address you name and confirm in Community, or, until you do, to the address the workspace owner signs in with, once it is confirmed. If neither is confirmed, replies come to off-studio at hello@off-studio.io.
What the service promises, and what it does not
- Your records are yours. Everything exports as a file you keep, and the files you add to Documents as one .zip, whenever you want, on every plan including the free one.
- The agent proposes rather than decides. A contact, an organization, a gig or an interaction it suggests is written only when you confirm it. A reminder, a task or a note is written when you ask for one, because asking was the confirmation. A fee it reads is proposed, and is entered only when a person who may record money confirms it. No other amount it reads is entered anywhere, and no figure is invented to fill a gap. What you confirm is your own decision, and checking it is yours too.
- Nobody can promise that a service is never interrupted, and this page will not pretend otherwise. There is no uptime guarantee. Backups are taken; the privacy policy says where things live.
- Where the law allows a limit on liability, liability is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before the problem. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, intent or gross negligence, or any right a consumer has that cannot be signed away.
Fair use
Do not try to break the service, read other people's workspaces, or resell access. An account used that way can be suspended, and you will be told why and given your data.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters to you, you will be told by email before the change applies, and you can end the subscription instead of accepting it. The date at the top says when this page last changed.
Law
Swiss law applies and the courts of Nidwalden, Switzerland, have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, or your right to bring a case there.
